“Joseph does excellent work. He is very meticulous and professional.”
Meet the Owner
Joseph Handschuh owns Excelsior Stone, a countertop contractor in Carson City he started in 2019. He has more than 20 years in the stone industry, with a background in high-end custom fabrication and installation.
A lot of that work has been in custom homes around Lake Tahoe. Today he templates, fabricates and installs every Excelsior Stone job himself, so the person who quotes your countertops is the same person who sets them.
Licensed and Insured in Nevada
Excelsior Stone holds Nevada contractor license NV 0085316, classification C-19, which covers terrazzo and marble work. The business is licensed and insured, and the license has been active since the company opened.
Excelsior Stone stands behind its workmanship and will evaluate and address any workmanship issue. Manufacturer and material warranties vary by product.
Custom Stone Fabrication, Start to Finish
Every job starts with a quote request and a conversation about material and scope. Each countertop is then templated at your home, cut and finished in the Carson City shop, and installed by the owner. Your sink, faucet and any slide-in cooktop need to be on site before templating, so every cutout fits. That includes sink and cooktop cutouts, faucet holes, mitered edges, waterfall ends and full-height backsplashes.
The shop works in granite, quartz, quartzite, marble and porcelain, for kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms. Excelsior Stone works with homeowners, custom home builders and designers. Old countertops can be removed and hauled away as part of the job, and a Top Swap puts new stone on existing kitchen cabinets.
